Yumi or Japanese bow, red lacquered. It is made of assembled bamboo strips and braids forming rings and complex patterns.
It bears a signature in a rectangular reserve.
The grip is made of polychrome felt with geometric motifs.

The yumi is one of the samurai's favorite weapons. It remained unchanged until the advent of gunpowder and rifles in the 16th century.
It was used on foot behind a tedate or on horseback.

Excellent condition.
