    AXE HEAD Animated with a LION
    East Asia, 17th century
    Iron and bronze
    Length: 48 cm; Width: 4 cm

    Impressive curved single-edged axe head, whose head is animated by a bronze lion, its front paws resting on a rectangular base.
    Its open mouth reveals a lolling tongue. Its mane and fur are finely incised, its hindquarters raised up to the blade, where its long tail stretches to the eye.
