    DAGGER called Katar Jamadhar
    Mughal Empire, India, early 19th century
    Iron, steel, gold damascene
    Total length: 45.8 cm - Blade length: 24.3 cm

    Double-edged steel blade with center ridges and double hollow fullers. Chainmail-piercing tip. On each side, it is decorated with a flower and three gold damascene cartouches (traces of corrosion).
    The forging is integral, opening onto a U-shaped handle, composed of a double branch, convex on the outsides, and connected by two transverse bars. It is richly decorated with gold damascene, with floral motifs and friezes.

    Beautifully preserved original damascene.
