The work of a poilu from the Great War of 14/18. The chalice-like base is marked "Souvenir de ma captivité 1914/16 Parchim" (German town in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern). Floral decoration on one side and an angel holding a banner with the name of soldier Alexandre Dubois on the other. The flask features the soldier's monogram AD on one side and "Souvenir de ma captivité Parchim" on the other. Remarkable chasing work and testimony to history. Museum-quality piece.
Good overall condition. 34.5 cm high, 19 cm gourd, 19 cm chalice.
