MILITARIA, TRENCH CRAFTS, POILUS CANE, KAISER GUILLAUME II CARICATURE. Satirical cane

Very nice cane from the First World War 14-18.
Carved monoxyle wood, depicting a caricature of William II, vampire teeth and tongue out.
This emperor is best known for his moustache, which earned him a number of caricatures.
The Kaiser's fang-like moustache helped to demonize him and give him a disturbing, ferocious air.
Without provoking the war, he did nothing to prevent it. He would stop at nothing to expand his empire, and quickly embarked on a colonial strategy. An ambitious man who thought big for his empire.
This satirical cane, with its grotesque depiction of the enemy, produces a comic effect designed to weaken the subject.
A beautifully executed sculpted cane, the knob depicting the Kaiser wearing a very realistic spiked helmet, while the shaft is carved with green-painted foliage (ivy and oak leaves with acorn).
It is marked CAMPAGNE 1914-15-16 followed by the letter M.
Wrought iron ferrule. Lanyard hole.
The cane is in very good condition, probably not very useful, with a few traces of wear and use throughout.

Dimension from ferrule to tip of helmet: 100 cm.
