An exceptional piece of museum quality, this neo-Gothic ciborium in gilded brass. Our canopy is decorated with numerous glass beads and is richly decorated. Its magnificent vault rests on the Corinthian capitals of the four columns.
Fleurons and pinnacles contribute to the soaring towards the heavens of this piece topped by a cross.
It is the work of Master Goldsmith FAVIER fils on a design by the Bordeaux architect Jean-Jules MONDET. Their names are engraved at the base of two of the columns.
Exceptional dimensions of 295 cm on a square base of 56 cm. The width at the canopy is 66 cm.
Some missing parts - Gilding in good condition.
Certainly a cathedral piece.
