Large pair of Empire-style bronze sconces in perfect condition.
Each bears the Napoleonic insignia, the eagle and the capital N of Napoleon.
The shaft is finely chased and divided into sectors. Those bearing the light arms are adorned with horizontal lines of circled flowers, while the others feature oblique lines of alternating twists and dots.
The light arms are turned into an elegant scroll and adorned with a flower. At the top, they carry a large wick, from which the spigot has been removed to allow electrification at a reasonable and more aesthetic height.
Electrification is perfectly reversible, and the binnets supplied with the sconces can be screwed in place of the E14 sockets installed.
For safety reasons, the rear connection has been made with resealable connectors rather than dominoes.
This attractive pair of wall lights, 42 cm high and 28 cm wide, will look great in an entrance or hallway.
