Pol Chambost (1902-1983) was a French ceramist and sculptor renowned for his fresh approach to the decorative arts and the table. After studying at the Ecole des Arts Appliqués, he began working with his father as a funeral sculptor. He then developed a passion for ceramics, which he used to create his first pieces, and opened his own workshop. Here he developed his technique and began mass production. Throughout his prolific career, his innovative, one-of-a-kind pieces aroused great interest in France and the United States.
