Iconic modernist adjustable table lamp designed by Jacques Adnet (1900-1984) for Baccarat. The originality of this lamp is that it is composed of two independent parts: a circular metal base and a glass ball that carries the lamp and can be oriented in multiple positions.
Old edition dating from around 1930. Good condition but the base was usually nickel plated, this one was either not nickel plated or lost it entirely. Two small dents on the underside of the glass ball base - see photos (not visible when the ball is in place on its base).
Wired for European use. A modern shade is included.
Note: Some believe that this model was not designed by Adnet but by Georges Chevalier, but the prevailing opinion and most common attribution is to Adnet.
