    Henri Picard Pair of large lamps in chiseled, gilded and patinated bronze "aux vestales"

    Superb quality of manufacture, chiseling and gilding, faithful to the productions of this famous bronzier.

    Both lamps are signed with the usual "H. Picard" stamp under the feet

    Henri Picard, famous and prestigious bronze gilder in Paris, 6 rue de Jarente, then rue de la Perle between 1831 and 1864.
    He was a supplier to Emperor Napoleon III who ordered decorative objects for his apartments at the Louvre.
    He was known for the quality of his production of tableware and fireplace fittings.
    A large pair of twelve-light candelabra by Henri Picard is kept at the Louvre Museum.
