* Hugo Berger (Goberg)
started his first metal factory in Schmalkalden, Germany, where decorative ironwork was made in the traditional way. The use of materials such as iron and brass is typical of Goberg's work. The manual character clearly attracts attention. His style, method and materials fit perfectly with the Arts & Crafts movement, a very popular style at the time. At the beginning of the 20th century, he became well known throughout the world, due to the fact that the Liberty department store and associated stores sold much of his work.
