Large oil lamp, baluster base in cream earthenware with floral decoration of butterflies in flight, bronze mounting, crystal tank with twisted ribs, acid-etched glass globe of birds in flight, garlands of flowers and knotted ribbons.

Height approx. 78.5 cm. Messenger's Nº2 Patent Duplex" two-wick mechanism, named after Samuel S Messengers & Sons, an English lighting manufacturer established in Birmingham from 1835.

The mechanism has not (yet) been tested, but appears complete and functional.

No accidents, a tiny chip at the end of the lamp tube, bronzes to be cleaned or kept with its patina according to taste.

Superb, highly decorative lamp
