This large lamp consists of a Delft earthenware vase, richly decorated in the Chinese style, in blue on a white background, with arabesques of palmettes, stylized flowers and geometric motifs. The vase alone measures 65 cm, the whole with the lampshade 100 cm, and the foot is 27 cm wide. It was electrified some time ago and the electric wire, although in good condition, needs replacing. The silk covering the plastic wire is worn. The enamel on the belly has worn away. We present it with the lampshade it had when we acquired it, but it is no longer impeccable. On the reverse, it bears the mark of the "Les deux sauvages" factory, which belonged to Mattheus Van De Boogaert from 1750 to 1765.
18th century.
