Large antique chandelier in gilded bronze and patinated bronze, troubadour style from the Restoration period (first half of the 19th century circa 1830).
Very beautiful and rich model with 12 arms of light in the shape of an antique lamp like an Empire chandelier, but whose structure in patinated bronze with a rich decoration of matt and shiny gilded bronze takes forms in the historic Troubadour register: rolled up parchments and busts of bearded men wearing a Ducal crown.
The repertoire is rich, the proportions are very elegant, the finishes perfect, it is a very beautiful chandelier, a spectacular model. It is probably a special order for a French Ducal family, in the 1830s. But we do not know its provenance.
It is an exceptional piece for its originality, it recalls the very beautiful antique chandeliers of this period but with a unique shape and decor that will not be found anywhere else.
Our chandelier is in superb condition; the gilding is exceptionally well preserved. The chandelier was taken apart and cleaned piece by piece and re-electrified.
We equipped it with 12 Saint Louis crystal bobeches. No shortage.
