    Pair of small torches or candlesticks, they rest on a base finely carved with palm leaves and ivy. The fluted barrel supports the binet decorated with guilloché friezes. Very fine carving work and high quality of the 6 elements.

    A transitional model
    Neoclassical in form, this model takes up the clichés developed around 1770 by numerous ornamentalists and disseminated by collections of engravings. However, they express the evolution of taste between the Directory, the Consulate and the beginning of the Empire by the use of different friezes, for example the shape of the binet which differs as well as the complexity of the lines of the barrel.
