Pair of elegant late Empire period gilt bronze torches (circa 1815-1820).
A quality baluster model, they are composed of 8 independent pieces (in bronze, not brass), gilded with fine gold - mercury gilding in matte and bright. Beautiful, finely chased diamond decoration. These are torches (large candlesticks).
They are in very good condition, no missing parts, no distortion, gilding still very present with some light wear.
