According to the Archives Nationales, bronzemaker Henri Picard, a founder and gilder, set up shop at 6 rue Jarente from 1831 to 1839, before moving to 10 rue de la Perle until 1864. He supplied decorative objects for Napoleon III's small apartments in the Louvre. He was known for the quality of his production of tableware and mantelpieces, in particular the combination of gilded and silvered bronze. An important pair of twelve-light candelabra by Picard is in the Musée du Louvre.
