Pair of candlesticks in gilded and patinated bronze Tripod base claws Period Early XIXth

Sumptuous and Large Pair of Antique Candlesticks in chiseled and gilded and patinated bronzes, very richly decorated XIXth Restoration Period around 1820.

Superb condition, Beautiful dark green brown patina, and very high quality chasing, Magnificent original Mercury gilding in two matte and shiny tones, composed of 15 pieces of bronze by Flambeau, which indicates a very high level of manufacture, and with superb reliefs on all parts. The patinated bronze is treated with finely guilloche parts.

The contrast of gold and patina reveals to the eye all the finesse of the torches and the diversity of the pieces used and the decorations.

Architecture of the Torch:

Tripod base with Hocks and claw feet of Lions, and rests on a base with concave sides and projections, Covered by a rich decoration in drapery with leaves and volutes, and with three stylized bat wings (quite rare, decorations used by Thomire ) and stylized pompoms, and various moldings.

Central part with a thin base at the foot of a shower with a decoration of heart rays and flat open leaf, Sumptuous central shaft which alternates gilded and patinated bronze with rich decoration of foliage, heart rays, water leaves, and various moldings, bulbous base , ring with ridges and a flared body, all in a marvelous balance.

Upper part: Round connecting ring decorated with water leaves and moldings on which rests a sumptuous and very large bronze round-shaped curved basin gilded with rich decoration of stylized acanthus leaves. Pretty Binet in the shape of a Medici vase decorated with foliage and heart rays and moldings.

Magnificent original Bobéche very richly worked in the shape of a hollow cut and decorated with rais de coeur in the entourage.

The set is incredibly fresh, coming out of a high-level Collection of an Empire Amateur. tiny traces of use and seniority. (200 year old object)
