Set of two Candlesticks in Patinated and Gilded Bronze, representing a Girl and a Satyreau, sitting on Stumps.
The two characters, with Chubby morphologies, are naked, and crowned with Golden Pampers. The lower part of the body of the young Faun, in faithful figure of the Greek Divinity, is that of a Goat.
Each of these children holds in his hands two Horns of Plenty embellished with Vines. These arms of Lights are finished by leafy Bobèches, themselves topped by Chalices also worked. It should be noted that these parts Candlesticks are removable, to facilitate the cleaning.
These Bronzes rest on a White Marble, cut in Truncated and Fluted Columns. These first parts are themselves camped on square bases with hollowed out corners, and with the perimeters underlined by golden rods.
These Candelabras were inspired by Original works created in 1770 by Clodion (for the Satyr) and by Delarue (for the Girl), and of which a specimen is exposed in the Louvre Museum.
Art, Love and Mythology are united in this Pair of Candlesticks, which will modestly light up your peaceful evenings, when it will not be simply but wonderfully decorative.
