Rare pair of large candlesticks with leonine muffles in gilded bronze from the Empire period.
Placed on a generous circular base decorated with a frieze of water leaves, each of the torches rises from a small circular podium on which three lion paws rest.
These latter retain the departure of the quiver barrel, the neck of which is decorated with three applied leonine muzzles, framed by two rings decorated with eggs.
At the top, the vase-shaped bobèche welcomes a soft edging of a diamond frieze.
Very good state of conservation. Original gilding completely cleaned.
Slight dents at the base of the barrels, visible in the photos.
Rare Empire period model, circa 1805-1810.
Work attributable to Claude Galle (1759-1815) or André Antoine Ravrio (1759-1814).
