Pair of patinated and gilt bronze candelabras featuring a zephyr carrying two torches. The cylindrical base with superb small sconces symbolizing "study" and "fire", all on a console chased with palmettes.
Beautifully carved anthemion wicks. One is missing (one is also missing from the pair in the mobilier national collection).

This model of candelabra with zephyrs, made by André Antoine Ravrio (1759-1814), was in the back cabinet of Prince Joachim Murat (1767-1815), on the second floor of the Elysée Palace.
The Mobilier National conserves it under number GML 5879/1 and 2, referenced in Marie-France Dupuy-Baylet's book "L'Heure, le Feu, la Lumière. Les bronzes du Mobilier national 1800-1870", page 124
    (visible in the photos).

Very good condition with its original gilding.

    Empire period, circa 1805.

    Height 44 cm
