This ravishing harem ring is made up of four rings joined by a central barrette, each ring set with six small turquoise cabochons. This type of ring, known as a harem ring or Turkish ring, originated in Turkey, in the Ottoman Empire. Various legends circulate about the origin of these rings, the one that seems the prettiest tells us that the sultan offered his wives a new ring every year as a reward for their fidelity. Unfortunately, the hallmark is illegible. As is often the case with these rings, the gold is 14-carat.
