A pair of large Lunéville earthenware champagne jars or buckets in the classic floral design with red combed edges. Inspired by Strasbourg designs, it is also known as the "Réverbère" service. Such was the success of this design in the 19th century, found in all the châteaux and houses of Lorraine and eastern France, that it became emblematic of the Manufacture de Lunéville, to the point of being known essentially as "the Lunéville design". Late 19th-century production, entirely hand-painted (no decals like contemporary productions).
Our pieces are the giant model of the Lunéville cache pot or bottle bucket: 27cm high when the classic model is 16cm high.
Their extra-large size lends itself well to use as a large planter, punch bowl or champagne bucket.
A fine collector's item, rare in this format.
Unsigned antique pieces. The decorations are identical on both, with a bouquet of roses on one side and tulips on the other. The two pots differ in their handles, one with blue palmettes, the other with red.
Excellent condition, fresh colors. Firing cracks on the one with blue handles, with a glaze skip on the foot, the second pot is perfect.
