A very rare and early piece of anthropomorphic earthenware depicting a smiling child holding a strawberry. This type of production is exceedingly rare and far precedes the antique-style busts with "à la palette" decoration. It is therefore a real showpiece.

This is the application of a summary decoration to enhance the thick, covering white enamel on which it is painted.
This type of decoration originated in Faenza, a major center of craftsmanship. It wasn't until the mid-16th century that it appeared on Italian majolica.
