A very large and beautiful tureen in fine white earthenware (or "terre de pipe") from the Empire period. No engraved mark, but the model is known to have been made in Montereau around 1810 (see "La faïence fine française", Dorothée Guillemé-Brulon, Massin).

Approximate dimensions 32 cm high, including fretel, for a diameter of 28 cm at the tureen mouth.

Very fine condition for its more than 200 years, the lid and its fretel as well as the side grips are intact, we note two small old chips under the base, little or not visible when the tureen is put down.
