Large Longwy enamel platter depicting a bouquet of sunflowers.
This limited edition platter is the 9th in a series of 50.
It was created by Rolande Rizzi, born in Longwy in 1927, who studied under MP Chevallier. Rizzi drew inspiration from the Japanese tradition to decorate large round platters with bird motifs.
She left the pottery in 1949.
This platter was enhanced by Justin Masson (1882-1959).
It bears a stamp created in the early 20th century and abandoned in 1948.
This stamp features an elaborate design where ten Lorraine crosses are placed on either side of the traditional d'Huart coat of arms. A slightly curled banderoll bears the mark "Emaux de France" and the words "decorated by hand" as well as France.
This dish is in perfect condition.
