Beautiful Art Nouveau barbotine cachepot from the Onnaing faience factory.
The deeply cut upper rim is adorned on each side with five large flowers, three alternating carmine-red and two purplish. The heart of each flower is golden yellow. The tones are not vivid, but rather pastel and softened with white touches.
The six feet, embellished with a wide scalloped edge all around, are also golden yellow, as are the handles.
The handles are very curved, joined to the pot in the middle, leaving only two small holes.
The background is greenish-brown.
The silhouette is well-balanced, with the six rather shallow feet giving a good impression of stability.
A pure product of Art Nouveau, this planter belongs to a fine line of Onnaing earthenware, of which we present another equally attractive model.
Beautiful full sunburst signature of 1900 accompanied by model number 721.
The dimensions are generous: 22.5 cm opening, 33 cm from tip to handle and 22 cm high.
Note a very small chip on the inside of the upper rim and a slight chip on the top of one of the flowers visible in the last two photos. These two minor flaws are only perceptible to the discerning eye and in no way affect the aesthetics of the piece.
This surprisingly named "Jonquilles" will seduce you with its cheerful colors.
