    For information :
The region of Saint Amand les Eaux with its road network, its rivers and canals, and its forest, was perfect for hosting an earthenware factory, transport being facilitated and wood available for the kilns.
In 1705 Nicolas Desmoutiers created his earthenware factory where he produced tin earthenware decorated in high fire with blues in monochrome.
In 1735 Marie-Joséphe Desmoutiers, her daughter, married Robert Flescher and they continued the business.
In 1775 the factory was sold to Gaspard Bcart who only bought the equipment and closed the site in 1776, moving it to Valenciennes.
