This majolica albarello is cylindrical in shape, curved at the waist (to make it easier to grip) and has a shoulder at the level of the collar with a bead (allowing a ligature to be attached and the container to be closed). The belly is punctuated by a polychrome decoration of flowers, birds and bees on a sanded white background.

Albarelli were prized by apothecaries and pharmacies, who kept ointments, medicinal plants and other powders in them thanks to the non-porous properties of these containers.
