Creil-Montereau faience is a ceramic production from the communes of Montereau, in Seine-et-Marne and Creil, in Oise. The group was created in 1840 by the merger of these two manufacturers. The company became the Faïenceries de Creil et Montereau under the name Lebeuf, Milliet et Cie (L.M et Cie), until 1876. It was during this period that the proposed article was marketed.
This pair of fine earthenware vases on a blue background, of good height and with identical decorations, has a short, shallow body, embellished with scales slightly in relief.
The very long, flared neck is adorned on its faces with beautiful nymphs.
We find on the sides two characters half-angel half-mermaid in the lower part as well as two heads of mythical animals as handles.
Everything rests on a pedestal.
These vases will seduce by their dimensions and their ornamentations.
