Description

At Rambervillers in the Vosges, ceramics were made with a metallic lustre glaze. This produces beautiful colour effects and light reflections. This model was designed and signed by Louis Majorelle, which makes this vase extra special. The decoration is ferns. But not a realistic image of ferns, but more the organic structure and flowering of the fern. It is as if Majorelle wanted to show the character and soul of the fern, above its outward appearance. This example has got very strong reflection shine and brigt blue-violet colors.
