Born in 1915 in Aix-en-Provence and died in 2002 in Paris, Daniel Ravel was a French painter. He studied engraving at the Ecole des Arts Industriels, then moved to Paris in 1934 to attend the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs. In the capital, he took part in numerous exhibitions, exhibiting at the Salon des Indépendants, the Salon de Mai and the Salon d'Automne. He also exhibited abroad. His first solo show was organized in 1956 at the Galerie Lucien Durand.Ravel was attracted by the cubist painters, and in his abstract compositions he produced juxtapositions of geometric shapes in bright colors. He also focuses on light, which plays an important role in his canvases.
Daniel Ravel exhibited with Lucien Durand and was a member of the Jacques Massol stable in Paris.
