This watercolor is from the 18th century, probably the second half of the Louis XV-Louis XVI period. The work is pleasing to the eye, depicting the portrait of Louis Ferdinand de France after Maurice Quentin de La Tour (1704-1788), a French pastel portraitist.
Louis de France, dauphin du Viennois, born September 4, 1729 at the Château de Versailles and died December 20, 1765 at the Château de Fontainebleau, was the eldest son of King Louis XV of France and Navarre, and his wife Marie Leszczynska.
The work is unsigned, but the portrait is of good quality. There is a label on the back indicating the artist's name, but unfortunately it is illegible.
The frame is later, from the 20th century, as is the back. There is a protective tile.
This watercolor remains presentable, with a few tears in several places, as well as scratches, but we must accept the defects due to age.
You will notice rubbing, marks and wear, particularly on the frame.
For the condition, please detail the photos.
