French School of the 19th century, pastel portrait in the taste of the 18th century representing a beautiful aristocrat of the Louis XV period, after the work of Louis Michel Van Loo in 1727 - lady with a bird (the latter is not represented on our version). The work is signed by Adèle Michel and dated 1850. It is presented in a very rich frame in wood and stucco gilded with gold leaf in the Rocaille style dating from the end of the 19th century.

Our painting is typical of the 18th century revival at the instigation of Empress Eugénie under the Second Empire. The set is perfect to complete a pure 18th century or Napoleon III decor.

Beautiful painting, very fresh in excellent condition, in a museum quality frame gilded with gold leaf, also in excellent condition.
