Charles Millot aka Henri Gervèse (September 21, 1880 Vesoul - May 24, 1959 Buenos Aires) was a naval officer, painter and illustrator
He was accepted into the naval school competition in 1897 and trained on the training frigate Iphigénie in 1899-19002.
A graduate of the Naval School, he served in the Far East, in China, where he notably commanded the gunboat Doudart de Lagrée on the Yangtze River in 1913-1914, then in the Dardanelles during the First World War. He ended his career as head of the Historical Service of the Navy.
In 1921, he was appointed painter of the Navy.
After living in Belgium, he emigrated to Argentina in 1930 and worked for the Compagnie des Chargeurs Réunis, and illustrated posters and numerous postcards on the life of sailors in China or Latin America.
He provided drawings to various newspapers such as Le Rire, Fantasio and La Vie Parisienne.
He is known for his series of postcards and cartoons on the Navy inspired by the other famous cartoonist of the Navy Sahib.
