This lithograph, entitled L'Arc-en-ciel (The Rainbow), bears the signature of Henri Rivière and the printer's red stamp. The lithograph is authentic and old, and the colors are still fresh.
It is sold as presented. There is a fold at the top left (on the corner), tears and a fold on the right edge and top, heavy soiling at the bottom (on the edge), and small spots in the gray sky. The work remains presentable, however.
We have taken as many photos of the defects as possible so that you can judge the condition.
Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver and illustrator. He began his career as a draftsman, then moved on to intaglio engraving, specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he embarked on a career as a stage director and set designer, in 1886, of shadow plays at the Chat Noir cabaret, shows that he improved by creating highly innovative color sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving, making a name for himself in the history of etching, woodcutting, lithography and watercolor (he painted around a thousand watercolors).
Our many photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the work.
