This lithograph entitled "La féérie des heures - Le Premier Quartier" is signed by Henri Rivière and published by Eugène Verneau in Paris. It bears a red stamp.
This lithograph is sold as presented. We note a white dot in the sky, one on the boat and one on the fisherman's arm, traces at the bottom corners and a trace in the top margin. However, the work remains presentable.
We do our utmost to point out the slightest defect, as this lithograph has the advantage of its original fresh colors, and once framed it will be highly decorative.
Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver and illustrator. He began his career with drawing, then with intaglio engraving, specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he embarked on a career as a stage director and set designer, in 1886, of shadow plays at the Chat Noir cabaret, shows that he improved by creating highly innovative color sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving, making a name for himself in the history of etching, woodcutting, lithography and watercolor (he painted around a thousand watercolors).
