This lithograph is authentic and old, and has remained fresh in color.
Sold as presented. There are folds on the top two corners and in the right-hand margin, yellowing and soiling in the margin, ink marks in the bottom right-hand corner, two tears in the right-hand margin and one tear on the left, stains in the sky and on the bottom. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver and illustrator. He began his career as a draftsman, then moved on to intaglio engraving, specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he embarked on a career as a stage director and set designer, in 1886, of shadow plays at the Chat Noir cabaret, shows that he improved by creating highly innovative color sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving, making a name for himself in the history of etching, woodcutting, lithography and watercolor (he painted around a thousand watercolors).
