    A beautiful print by Georges Elgar Hicks (1824-1914) depicting a young Bohemian girl selling violets. Hicks was a Victorian painter of genre scenes and a brilliant portraitist. A member of the Royal Society of British Artists, he won numerous prizes and produced a prolific body of work. Referenced in the Bénezit. Plate size 39 wide x 51 high. Signed lower right. Small art publisher's stamp (an easel with a palette and initals R.S ( Raphael Tuck and Sons?)) Original frame with my own blue patina and inscriptions on the back (see photos). Very good condition. Very decorative set.
