Woodcut. Nicolas Eekman was born in 1889 in Brussels, from dutch parents. He studied architecture in the Academy of Brussels, and after the war settled definitely in Paris, in 1921, where he became a close friend of Piet Mondrian. His work, including more than three thousand pieces, lays on a really unclassifiable style and inspiration. He died in Paris in 1973.
