Gabriel Perelle (1603-1677)
A farmer's son, his talent for drawing drew the attention of the Duc de la Vieuville (his father's employer).
to give him some training. He worked in Simon Vouet's studio, showing real talent for drawing and engraving landscapes in particular.
His inspiration came from Claude Lorrain or Francisque Millet, but he also engraved after drawings by Poussin, Asselyn or Bril.
His sons Adam and Nicolas helped him in his work.
His works can be found in museums in Orleans, Hermannstadt and Wurzburg.
