This engraving was made by Jean Coraboeuf in 1895, so there's no doubt about the period.
Hand-dedicated by Coraboeuf, it is a reprint of a drawing by Ingres, the portrait of Madame Destouches.
Jean Coraboeuf was born in Pouillé-les Coteaux (Loire Atlantique) on November 6, 1870 and died in Paris on February 6, 1947.
Ingres was a French painter. After an initial apprenticeship in his native Montauban, he became a pupil of Jacques-Louis David in Paris. He was awarded the Prix de Rome in 1801.
Unfortunately, this engraving is stained in many places, with wear, rubbing and missing parts in various places on the frame.
