Original etching depicting ducks. This is one of 72 plates enhanced in color, taken from the Description de l'Égypte ou Recueil des observations et recherches faites en Égypte pendant l'expédition française, published by order of His Majesty the Emperor Napoleon the Great.
Produced between February 1802 and 1829 by order of Napoleon Bonaparte, and published from 1809 to 1829.
A plate belonging to the Birds series, studied by Jules-César Savigny (1777-1851), a zoologist who took part in the Egyptian campaign in collaboration with the famous painter Jacques Barraband.
Very good condition.
