Original etching of ibises, one of 72 plates enhanced in color, from the printing of the "Description de l'Égypte ou Recueil des observations et recherches faîtes en Egypte pendant l'expédition française, publié par les ordres de Sa Majesté l'Empereur Napoléon le Grand".
This edition was published from 1809 to 1829.
Our plate belongs to the Birds series, studied by Jules-César Savigny ( 1771- 1851), the famous zoologist who took part in the Egyptian campaign in collaboration with the famous painter Jacques Barraband (1768- 1809).
Our print is in very good condition.
It is presented in an antique frame.
