Well framed, this fresh project engraving, where the model of a double fountain at the Obelisk, clearly marks the taste of the end of the 18th century, when architecture mixed with archaeological discoveries was influenced by the end of the reign of Louis XVI, when classism was de rigueur and heralded a great change in style, with the aging Baroque no longer the order of the day. The union of two artists, J. Hertel and the famous engraver Péquégnot, publisher at 37, rue des Acacias, Montmartre. A decorative figure of its own imp. Pierron rue Montfaucon ,2 . I won't go into detail about the various and elaborate ornaments of this pretty engraving, well presented in a gray champlat frame, bordered by a gilded leave frame. Annotated on the back, Château de Groussay.
