Print engraved on copper enhanced with colors taken from the Tabulae sceleti and musculorum corporis humani of Albinus (plate IX),
London, John and Paul Knapton, 1749, masterpiece of medical engraving.
Image size: 38 x 52 cm
Mounted under an ivory passepartout in a modern frame. (light chips)
This print is taken from the London edition of 1749 by the Knapton brothers, the plates of which were re-engraved after drawings by Jan Wandelaar for the original edition of 1747 in Leiden. All bear the address “Impensis J. & P. Knapton Londini” as well as a date. Plate IX was engraved by Boitard in 1748.
