Johann Jacob Hoch was a German painter and draftsman. Born in a family of painters in Mainz, he trained in Vienna between 1778 and 1783. He lived in Paris in 1783. He is known for the detailed, even miniaturistic character of his works, characteristic of German draftsmen of the last third of the 18th century.
