Original label on reverse of bottom cartopn inscribed: The Vice King of Egypt had this iron dock built by the Société Nouvelles des Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée in La Seyne. It has a total length of 150 meters, its outside width is 30 meters, its total height is 12 meters, and it weighs four million six hundred thousand kilograms. She left La Seyne on July 3, 1868, towed by the 400-horsepower Paquebots Amérique and the 300-horsepower Paquebots Indus, under the direction of Captain Allègre Marius, chief officer of the expedition.
