Jean-Baptiste VALADIÉ (born in Brive-la-Gaillarde, in 1933) is a French painter, sculptor, engraver, designer, lithographer and illustrator. He took his first artistic steps in Paris at Cours Charpentier, in Montparnasse. Then, for four years, he was a student at Applied Arts (graduated in 1955), while he also exercised his drawing talents around the Place du Tertre. A great traveler, it was in 1956 that he had his first exhibition in Dakar (Senegal). In 1960, during his military service, he exhibited in Algiers.
