Two large pharmacy display bottles in blown blue glass. Two different sizes. Good condition, only one damaged cap.
19th century period.
Dimensions of the large bottle: 55.5 cm, diam. 11.5 cm, small bottle: 41 cm, diam. 9.5cm

These large elongated bottles with their faceted, pointed caps were the rarest and it is difficult to find them still today.
These bottles were displayed in the windows of pharmacists and apothecaries to show the opulence of the pharmacy. They are characteristic of pharmacies in the 19th century.
If the vials were made of white glass, they were often filled with colored liquid, methylene blue or other.
